Speaking at a session on “Optimizing the benefits of the 340B Program” at the 11th Annual 340B Coalition Conference, Washington, D.C., July 24th, 2007, Bill Wood made the following comments:
“In Summary everyone involved with the 340B program should do 4 things:
Join SNPHA (Safety Net Hospitals for Pharmaceutical Access)
Participate in the 340B Prime Vendor Program.
Utilize the resources available from HRSA’s PSSC (Pharmacy Services Support Center)
Use S/T Health Group’s Consulting Service’s for 340B cost audit recovery services. They saved University of Utah over $120,000.
They perform transparent auditing of purchases
They obtain credits from manufacturers for overcharges
